A high density of vapors can lead to the formation of highly flammable mixtures. It may be harmful if you swallow it. Inhaling these vapors may cause vomiting and can induce bronchopneumonia, or chemical pneumonitis.

Handling and storage

To protect oneself from physical injury, it is best to avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. This chemical should only be used in well-ventilated areas and inhalation of chemical vapor should be avoided. The chemical should be stored at ambient temperatures and metal container should be well grounded and thoroughly sealed to avoid any contact with fire and sparks which may cause an ignition. It is essential to avoid using natural rubber, Polystyrene or EPDM as a material for storage.

Physical and chemical properties

This colorless chemical is a petroleum solvent which is a liquid at room temperature and immiscible in water.

Stability and reactivity

LAWS is stable at ambient conditions. Any direct contact with oxidizing agents should be avoided. On decomposition, the chemical may release carbon monoxide which is harmful to human health.
